Scored a brick of .22

That’s a new one on me. I have seen S&W ammo in several cf calibers but never rimfire ammo. A lot of the cf ammo was manufactured by Fiocchi, wonder who made the rf stuff.
Back in the 70’s and 80’s S&W revolvers were allocated to big dealers and could only be purchased with other Smith merchandise such as ammo and knives. Lots of ammo was sold at cost or below by those dealers that bought revolvers.

I've shot older S&W ammo when it was available back then. I never saw .22 either. One local gun dealer has a ton of old S&W stuff and other old items on his shelves. I figured if it was cheap enough I'd take it home.

No plans on shooting it unless someday I go through all my other .22 and need a bullet. But that is highly unlikely.

In the mean time I'll use to pose with my S&W .22's.

I was thinking you had scored at an Estate Sale. I used the S&W branded .38 and .357 ammunition in the 1970s.

You can never have too much .22 caliber and thank you for sharing.

Although I’ve seen S&W shotgun shells (in their cute little carrier) and various calibers of centerfire cartridges, this is my first encounter with S&W branded 22 rf. I wonder how it would do in period Model 41s and Model 17s. Too valuable to expend testing, I suppose.

I have a full brick of S&W .22, got it sometime back in the 80s. Probably will never shoot it. I don’t remember the story details, but something about S&W and Fiocchi forming a joint venture to make ammunition for the US market back in the Bangor-Punta period. I don’t believe it lasted too long.

Have not seen a brick for some time. Remember when they were $9.99?

While I have shot many boxes of S&W marked 38 specials, shotgun shells and other calibers, I haven't shot any 22's.

AFAIK Fiocchi was the manufacturer of S&W marked ammo and is usually a little hotter than other American made ammo.
