If you want to install a grip frame insert in the grip, you will need to order PEARCE GRIP GLOCK MODEL 42 &43 GRIP FRAME INSERT. No company makes one for the SD/SDVE series of handguns.
But, in order for it to fit correctly, you must file off the little lip on the insert. It will then fit perfect.
I ordered mine from Ebay, but, Amazon has them as well.

There is nothing wrong with the plug you have in your SD! I was just curious about it's fit in the image you posted.I am also aware of the fact no one makes a handle plug for the SD. If they did, I would have bought one!
Until we find a plug dedicated to the SD, The one you have in your Post, should do nicely!

So I ordered one and put it in the grip ,Is it a perfect fit ?No It's a little tight So like Disabled 1 said you do have to do a little filing ,I placed sandpaper on the table in different grits until I got it right,It is a pretty good fit and should keep the cavity free of any debris.Slight space on either side, but will do the job.

Thank you Mr. Bee.
Now, do I buy (4) more for the other fantastic platic guns, or, do I wait for a company to make one specific to the SD/SDVE series?

For those that can stand the hole, here is a solution. It really doesn't bother me and my other SD9s are open. This was really just a test to see if it holds up.

The filler is RTV silicone. The key is to fill the hole and build a large mound outside the hole. After it dries, take a razor blade and slice off the excess. I used Permatex brand on this one but there are others I've used in the past and I think they were a little better.

BTJHP, have you ever felt the grips on the newer SD9 & SD40? Talk about major stippling! Maybe, instead of traction grips, you need a new SD9 or SD40. :D

Yes, along with my older SD9s I have new ones as well (Jan 2016 is when it changed I think). The texture that was changed was only on the front and back straps and not on the sides which is where I have my traction grips. Somewhere in another thread I posted a picture of 3 SD9s showing grip texture. We will see what Marty thinks of the tractions grips hopefully sometime this week.
