I've had the SD9 for a couple of years now. It's my EDC. I'm trying to find a new holster, and I keep seeing this SD9VE. Can anyone explain the difference between the two weapons for me? I'm curious if there is enough of a difference that'll effect my holster choice.

Thanks all.

The SD9VE, is merely the SD9 with a few corners cut to save a few manufacturing costs to make the sell price a hundred bucks lower.

Not a bit of difference in anything important like reliability and performance.

The few differences can be found here :

As to a holster, I have concealed carried for many many years now, and have now found that the absolutely ideal holster is:

AlienGear Cloak Tuck 3 for inside waist band and

Aliengear Cloak Slide for outside waistband

epitome of comfort function and safety...and only $45 for the Tuck and $40 for the Slide.

I wear a Raw Dog single clip holster to carry my SD40VE. I also carry a Ruger LC9S in a Clinger Atom holster. Both holsters work great for me, but I'm starting to like the Clinger a little more. It may have to do with carrying a smaller pistol though.
