“Secure” wall display case?

Forgive me for asking a question that might be answered already somewhere in the vastness of this site.

I’m looking for a wall display box that can hold a handgun and a few accessories. It should be able to deter theft for about ten minutes when attacked with a hammer or crowbar. As I see it, it has to be bolted to the studs, have some form of shatterproof glass, and solid enough withstand an attack for a few minutes.

I don’t have to worry about this while I’m home and protected by S&W. But I don’t want to risk someone breaking in while I’m gone, and see how much they can grab in 30 seconds before the alarm dials the police. They may decide the CHP 4006TSW on the wall is more appealing than the cheap laptop on the desk.

I know it won’t be cheap, but protecting the gun is cheaper than trying to find a new one while being hassled by my insurance company.

Some time ago I came across someone selling wall-mounted steel plates in the shape of a rifle that you could mount into the studs behind the wall and lock your rifle onto. Somebody might have something like that for handgun display.

We all have our preferences, but if your concern is protecting the gun from theft while it is at home and you are not, wouldn't it be easier just to get a conventional pistol safe, mount it securely, and just put the gun in there when you leave it at home?

Or buy a rubberized magnet designed to hold a handgun, and mount it somewhere unconventional, somewhere a burglar is unlikely to look. (Not a good idea if there are kids in the house, for sure. Kids, as I can attest from having been one, will find hidden guns no matter how cleverly hidden.)

If you acquire more guns, a conventional gun safe is the way to go.

Assuming that you want something that is aesthetically pleasing, yet provides for security?
If you want an attractive yet secure display case, it might be tough to find on the consumer retail gun level, depending on your needs.
Although, the InvictaSafe display case described above looks really good!

The weak link might be the key lock. The one on the InvictaSafe looks like a typical rotating cylinder with 4-5 pins on a single plane. Many of these are notoriously easy to pick. There are lock companies that might be able to upgrade the lock.
Abloy, AVVA, and Bilock are three companies that come to mind that make extremely secure retrofit key locks.

Alternatively, you might want to look into the museum security industry. This will give you a few more options, especially if esthetics are a priority.
I have a friend in Italy that owns a collection of rare Italian violins worth several millions of dollars. He organizes museum exhibits and also works as a consultant.
He has designed secure display cases that satisfy the demands of his insurance company for these exhibits, yet satisfy discerning visual appeal. They are offered for both rental and sale.

I suggest you investigate the options through some online searches, if that idea works for you.

One of my Cowboy Action Shooting friends, had a very large alcove that had poured concrete walls on three sides. He used filled block with vertical and horizontal rebar for the 4th wall and installed a Browning safe room door. (the ceiling was a 8" concrete porch)

He just had the gun out on display! He also had 3 dehumidifiers going!

There's a "hidey room" guy that comes to the Orlando show pretty regularly and has a host of "concealment devices." Lamps with bases containing a spring loaded drawer for the weapon. Small mirrors with compartment behind to hold handgun. Headboards for shotguns, fireplace mantels with drop shelves. All sorts of devices for your needs. Joe

My wall cabinet is home made. I consider myself a gun collector. Having my prized possessions locked up in a safe just does not compute. If I can't look at them, what's the point?

My "den" has a desk and the walls are adored with deer heads. I can sit and read the American Rifleman or any other book I chose.

My house also has a security system, and my "den" has no windows. The door is specifically wired into the alarm.

I feel quite secure and I have the only key to my door.

In 1960-70sMy father had a beautiful display cabinet for his rifles and shotguns. Those days are gone for me. All of my guns are behind false bookcase in closet with metal door with 3 deadbolts. In that closet is a large gun safe . My guns will not be stolen in there.
