A friend has two S&W revolvers that he's thinking about moving and has offered them to me, but a price has not been mentioned yet. First revolver is a model 43 not a 43C, but the earlier model 43. It's been shot some, but still very nice. I'd rate it at 90%. No box, just the gun. 3 1/2" barrel. The other one is a model 34-1 4" barrel, nickel plated in VERY nice condition that I would rate at 95%. It has been shot and comes with the original box and tools. Not sure when it was made, but it does not have a pinned barrel. Question,, does the nickel finish on the 34-1 make it more valuable and not having the barrel pinned hurt it's value? Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on what is a fair price for each? Thank you very much. BCM

I would guess the model 43 at about $650, and the model 34-1 at about $850. Nickel is a plus and the unpinned barrel probably neutral on its value.

One would think the 43 being FAR less common than the 34 series would command a higher price?
I would think reverse the prices 700-800 for the 43 and 600-700 for the 34? Prices are still climbing on old classics they don’t make anymore
