Self defense insurance

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with self defense insurance. I found this company that says it is backed by the NRA. Plans & Pricing | Second Call Defense does anyone use this company? Is there a better company to use? What are your experiences/opinions with this type of insurance.

I would think that Liability Insurance which is normally part of your Homeowners Insurance would cover that up to the limit of your policy. I know mine does.

Gives a little comparison of what is available. I don't have any but leaning towards CCW safe.

Problem with homeowners insurance is I don't think it going to cover you when your out and about and have to shoot someone in self defense.

I can imagine the phone call to claims dept. "yes, I need to get a claims adjuster out here right away, there is a dead guy in my living room"!

It is advertized a lot around here, I have to wonder if the fact that one has this insurance could be used against you in a trial or suit if you actually had to shoot defend yourself. "He was willing and ready to shoot someone, see, he even bought insurance for it" maybe that could help sway a jury??
Any lawyers care to opine??

I have narrowed it down to second call and ccw safe. Still not sure which is better or how to choose.
