serial # on Mod 19-4

New member here, greetings to all. I recently bought a Mod19-4 the serial # has the "K" coming after the first two digits: example: 12K3456, does that configuration have any significance? I would like your comments.

Welcome to the forum from Arkansas and the serial numbers with one or two numbers before the K have no special meaning as that was just the way S&W assigned serial numbers on the K series. The serial number you posted an example was made in 1977.
