Serving Military, Vets, Gold Star families can get free Parks Pass

Seems that on 11-11, a new lifetime pass to federal lands will be available to members of the military, veterans, and Gold Star families.

Recently flashed it at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

I've posted about it here before but you reminded me to mention that there is another free lifetime pass to the federal parklands that is available to the permanently handicapped called Access Pass.

Access Pass - Accessibility (U.S. National Park Service)


A good feature of the Access Pass is the included parking placard we've used for camping at the designated handicapped accessable campsites. These campsites are typically set aside until 8PM and remain available until then, even in otherwise full campgrounds.

True. But the way I see it, if you've already paid that price, you shouldn't have to pay to see the land you paid it for.
