What’s the biggest thing you ever stuck a Knife into?
So now I ask you Quinn -

Your next door neighbor is a No no! A No Go!

I have a slightly worn circa 1960 stag handle hunter that I lucked into last year. I sent it back for a refurb and I have every intention of carrying and using it on my next deer hunt. That's what it was made for (at least back then).

For me the biggest thing lately is a watermelon.

Great knife, but I sense a staged photo. It looks flat out new and the sheath is way too clean for a user!

The look in your dogs eyes tells the real story. It’s obvious what he’s thinking...

I don’t know who you’re trying to bamboozle buddy, but that bad boy with the border patrol handle never even batoned so much as a piece of birch since it was born! :p

I’ve got a lab too. They sure let you know what they’re thinking! :D

I’ll fess up here... The only thing my Randalls ever cut was me and that wasn’t intentional!

I did pick up an old #4 (Big Game and Skinner) last year that has seen heavy use. It certainly wouldn’t hurt anything to use it in the field, but I don’t see myself dressing deer or antelope with it. It’s a bit too big for my tastes and I’m more than satisfied with the performance of my little Bark River and an old Western.

Chad: You are correct in certain respects. The knife is relatively new, being a Christmas gift from my wife. It is the only Randall I own. I am not an active hunter so it will probably not gut a deer in my lifetime. However, it is free to go anywhere I go and will surely get out more this summer. Like a fine gun, a fine knife can be used, enjoyed and cared for. In my family we have edged weapons dating back to the mid 1700's that are still in pretty nice shape. So, yes, my Randall is still pretty new but will be used as needed, however, probably not as a garden tool. Also,I do admire your collection of Randalls.

Pilgrim: Aside from agricultural and eating utensil applications, the matter was adjudicated long ago and was a life changing event for me.

Some of my users. I also have a model 1 and an Astro that get used too.

Chad, is that a Puma White Hunter in your photo, bottom/left?

I am currently engaged in a deal to buy a White Hunter, a 1974 model. Don't have it yet, but hope to, soon.

It’s a Skinner made in January of 1972.
Good luck on the White Hunter. They are impressive knives!

I have the same knife as the OP and purchased it sometime in the early 80’s . I’ve never used it but when I bought it I had Randall put my name on it . Probably not smart . Do you knife guys think it still has value ?
Wouldn’t mind selling it.
Also a friend of mine sent his scratched and dinged up Randall back to the factory and they buffed the blade back to new specs .
