Had these on my phone, thought I would include them.
As a re-finish was in-order, both could be sanded together.
As the wood is softer than the brass, still need to be careful.
Original mounting screw holes were over-drilled, glued and plugged.
Lacquer was the order of the day when these were made, so lacquer it is. I only hit the checkering with a few light coats.
