Had such a great experience with SW Customer Service today that I thought I'd share:

I recently bought an ANIB 8-shot, M327. As you may know, these came with full moon clips. The ones that were packaged with this were 6-shot clips for a .44cal. I called SW, told them what happened and "Larry" asked me one question:
"What's your address" No questions asked. Said he'd put 4, 8-shot FM clips in the mail today. NICE!!

Had an old school model 38, most accurate j-frame I ever owned. Frame cracked below the barrel. Sent it back and received a call 2 days later. Didn't have any 38 frames but would a 638 replacement be ok? Had it in less than a week. Excellent service.

In 1998, I complained to S&W about the heavy trigger pull on my new 317 .22 revolver. They asked me to send it in. They replaced the works with those designed for the LadySmith version, including a new hammer. Trigger pull much improved at no cost to me, took about 2 weeks. Also, I have requested S&W wrapping paper twice, and they responded with plenty of it at no charge. I think they do a pretty good job, all things considered.

I sent my 686 in for recall work, 22 years after the recall was issued. No problem, no charge.

About 6 or 7 years ago I had an old 629-1 that broke it's hammer stud while I was dry firing it. I bought it used so who knows what history or abuse it had endured. They fixed it for the cost of my shipping it to them.
Lately I bought a 627 Pro series which had a frame defect above the forcing cone. Looked like someone lost control of their file or mini grinder. They sent me a shipping label and it was returned in about 2 weeks. Wasn't happy about the defect but I was very happy with their service.
