ABC news this evening had a short video of the annual shark migration. Hundreds of the little darlings just swimming around.
Hey Caj, time to get the boat in the water and go fishing. Frank

Did they say which species these are, or where they migrate to/from?

here in florida we get some pretty big hammerheads they follow the tarpon that follow the mullet all part of the food chain when i see alot of tarpon in the water when diving for lobster ill go to another spot cause i know something is watching

Black Tips are excellent eating, I keep the small ones to eat and release the large one to breed.

There are certainly hammerheads in the Gulf. I caught one while wade fishing about a 1/4 of a mile out off Galveston. The water was about chest high where we were. It was a fairly small one, but I kept looking for its momma all the rest of the day. Even that little one was tough as nails and incredibly difficult to kill.

It was on again at MSN and while they didn't say what species they were just that it was part of their annual migration. Google Frank Mundus Long Island shark fisherman. Had a charter boat and mostly went for sharks.
Caj, and who is going to swim across the bayou holding one end of the net?. Frank

Several years ago after swimming for three days in the Gulf near Destin, Florida, my son and I rented a helicopter and flew down the beach. Just off the beach we could see thousands of sharks. I didn't get their name or religion but we didn't go back in the water either. I have caught blacktips in the Gulf and they're very tasty, especially when grilled over charcoal.

I read Mundus's book. He was supposedly the model for Quint in, "Jaws."
