There’s been a spate of shed break-ins around my rural area with the loss of the usual items; chain saws, compressors, power tools, etc. Each of my sheds has a fire alarm bell triggered by a door switch. Today, I took it a step further and rigged a .22 starter pistol loaded with blanks. The assembly screws to the bottom of a shelf. It’s fired by a lanyard connected to a hook on the door. Anyone breaking into the shed will get quite a surprise with the alarm bell going off followed by a gunshot. Plenty of noise to startle the perp and wake the neighbors in the dead of night.

It’s not the paranoia of being robbed…….it’s the fun of rigging these things. The pistol fires toward the back wall. I wouldn’t want to be sued by a perp who gets hit in the eye with a wad from the blank. However, I might be liable if the guy suffers a heart attack.

I can just see you guys shaking your heads..............

Haha, VERY COOL! I hope it gets tested! Now you need to rig up a video camera to turn on with a light so you can see the moron get the biggest surprise of his life! HA!

You must install a video camera. I wanna see the footage of some punk ****tin themselves as they break in. :D

Model 2

New model with additional features.

The microswitch closes to fire the flash bulb before the gun fires. Standard Flash/Bang perp scare ****less

I have had unwanted visitors on 4 different occasion in the last 37 years.

1st one was pointed out to me by an eye witness and we had a very frank discussion. He avoids me like the plague ever since.

Second one got away with some tools etc.

3rd was greeted by my first wife with her 45 acp, while I was at work.

4th one was greeted by me with a rapidly firing Kimber 45 acp. He left a brown trail and hasn't been back

Let's hope thats the last one

Years ago you could buy skunk essence - I'd like to see a contraption that sprays a thief with skunk essence, & send him on his way drenched in it.

There's a company, Liquid *ss, that sells really stinky liquids. I have smelled some of their stuff (don't ask) and it lives up to their name.

Should be some kinda 12 Ga charge---loud enough so that you have a heads-up and can witness some of the actions.
Blessings

Yup one of those black powder cannons converted to 12ga.

In my shed years ago I crossed two 110v wires at face height. If the broke open the door they walked right into it. I ran bare copper wires zig zagged and insulated it where they crossed.

Today I think I would lay a paddle switch on the door as it opens with a high amperage 12volt ign coil. 70,000amps would be good.

My marlin goose gun with its 36" barrel was always with me anyway 45 years ago. When I had the race car.

My neighbors kid came face to face with the bore on my 6" python 357mag. He almost had two areas to wipe if he lived. Slow colon and the express route. Don't mess with Bill

I was the good brother. One brother could press 175lbs one arm. My other brother had sales in cement shoes. The nicest guys you ever want to meet they would give you the shirt off there backs.
