For about 5 minutes tonight. I had to go by my local Poilce office today so I sliped my Kel tec .380 pocket holster and all in my locked car gun safe. I was there at about 5:00 pm. Was only there for about 10 minutes. I have my cargo pants on today and that .380 in black hawk pocket holster gets lost in those deep pockets.Any way at about 9 :30 I went to lightly tap pocket. Sheer panic for about 3 to 5 mins. I tearing cushions off couch and running around in panic. The it hit me the lil .380 was locked in car safe whew !!. This is the very 1 st time I have done this been carrying a very long time. Ok lets hear your panic story. My wife thought I was nuts I was speachless

Ok lets hear your panic story.
A few years ago I was looking for a couple rifles I had not seen in a long time. I searched all 'storage' areas and still could not find them. This was really disturbing as I have a good understanding of what I own and where they are but these two were gone. Ok - I forgot about a particular secure area I remember using, went to it immediately, and there they were - I guess this was a really good spot as I could not remember putting them there!

I had one missing for a while. I found it. I forget which one.
My GF keeps a piece of paper in her console to place on her dash to remind her she needs to fill up. It says GAS. You need one that says GUN to remind yourself you've disarmed. Write GAS on the other side. Just don't mix them up.

So? What's your point?

Florida no carry are no Federal bulidings or police stations schools bars polling booths I really didnt know that some states allowed in police stations. There is key points where they should have same laws. Natiowide. My view being in Florida for 55 years pretty much has it covered. Some here want to be abel to carry in full bars. I dont go there but dont think thats a good idea.

I also carry a small Kel-Tec,usually pocket carry. One day after work, having already changed into my house clothes, I realized I had left my P32 in my work coveralls...and the wife was doing laundry! I just stopped her in time. Irresponsible..but no harm done. However, a good scare. I'm pretty sure the little gun would have been no worse off after a thorough cleaning...:)

I HATE WHEN I DO THINGS LIKE THIS. IT'S HARD ON THE NERVS.

Yes I have their .32 model too. The .380 & .32 have been very reliable.

You, as a 'civilian, cannot carry in a PD.
Yes I can, have and do.
Handgunlaw.us says it's illegal in Florida to carry into a police station. Ditto where I live.

Is that not so where you are?
Nope. Not illegal here.
IN A POLICE STATION ??:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
This right here is why I asked.

wingriderz answered, very politely thank you, that it's the law in Fl and that was what I was curious about. I admit that I was vague in my questioning so, I apologize to you all for that. What I was looking for, and received, was the FUD that it's completely unthinkable to carry concealed into a police station.

While I'm sure there are several states or municipalities that have laws or ordinances against such (and I would follow those laws), it is not a universal sin to carry into a police station. Neither is the phrase "it's illegal to carry into a federal building" completely correct. That's a discussion for a different thread.

wingriderz, you handled the situation correctly. I also appreciate your coming here to tell us. It's a good reminder that it's easy to become complacent with our firearms. Especially when we carry regularly. Thank you for telling us and I'm glad it turned out to be nothing. We are all better for hearing it.

A few years ago my wife my daughter and I went to D.C. for a sightseeing trip. This was a couple years after 9-11.
Our vehicle was less than reliable but we went anyhow and I as a concerned father/husband took my KelTec P3AT along in my right front pocket in case we broke down en-route.
I don't remember what I was looking for but we wound up on the Pentagon campus where it is clearly posted "No firearms" etc.
My wife knows I carry but didn't put 2 and 2 together when she suggested I go ask the security guards how to get out of there. They were the last 2 people I wanted to have a face to face with.
I played the usual man thing that "I don't need to ask directions" until she got fed up and went herself.
We left without incident but the very next day we were on the same road looking for the same exit. My wife insisted the take the same turn we took the day before because "We must have missed the turn" that we were looking for and damned if I didn't wind up in the exact same pace I as the day before.
I don't know what the penalty is for carrying on Pentagon property pu I imagine it isn't a slap on the wrist and a "Naughty naughty"
