I see on the Vedder website they have the LightTuck for the Shield 1.0 and 2.0. Will a 2.0 not fir in a 1.0 Kydex holster? What about magazine compatibility? I'm thinking about upgrading. Thanks.

Should fit justttt fine. Minimal changes between 1.0 and 2.0 and none holster wise.

That’s what I thought but seeing Vedder has both versions listed, it got me wondering. I’m too invested in magazines and holsters to change now.

The only difference in the mags is purely cosmetic. The spacer sleeves on the 2.0 extended mags have a more aggressive texture, to match the 2.0 grip texture. Otherwise, they are the same mag.
If you only use the flush mags, no (visible) difference. :)

It's strange that the holster website lists different holsters for the Mod1 and Mod 2 Shields.

I have a 1.0 and two Vedder holsters. I helped my brother-in-law to purchase a gun and it was the 2.0. I hit the same point of confusion and a call to Vedder didn't really help. My conclusion was there is no difference in the holsters and I was right. The 1.0 Vedder holster my brother in law bought for his red lazered 2.0 worked perfectly.

I have no idea why their site lists two versions.

Rig on, are your Vedder holsters full kydex or hybrid?

The 1.0 and 2.0 will fit in the same holster. If you buy a gun and go to any holster web site, you look at their list of guns to see if yours is on there. If it is you buy. If not you go somewhere else. The list lets you know there is a holster for your gun PERIOD. It doesn’t mean that there is a different holster for each gun listed. JMO

Magazines and holsters for the original Shield 9mm and the new Model2.0 appear to be interchangeable. The only perceptible difference in the 2.0 magazine is that the 8 round mag has stippled surface that matches the new more aggressive grip on the Shield 2.0. I have and use both, with a two different holsters (Milt Sparks VM 2, Vedder Lighttuck). And the original Shield 9mm mags, while they don't have the stippling, not only work fine, they are $20 online (Brownells), vs. 29.99 for the Model 2.0 mags (DEGuns).

Ok, this makes sense. Thanks.
