This is not an in depth comparison, just my conclusions after firing both at the range this morning. Put 100 rounds through the Shield 40 with no problems. Forgot the extended mag so all rounds were through the six round mag. No drops and am now well over 200 rounds down range. Switched over to the PM40 and put 15 rounds through this piece. Quite a difference and I have to take into consideration that the 69 year old knuckles in my trigger finger are about worthless due to breakage and arthritis. The trigger take up in the PM40 seemed sooooo loooong and seemed like it would never break compared to the Shield and the recoil was significantly more in the PM. Overall, weapon control and target reacquisition was much better with the Shield. Following this session decided to sell the PM40 back to the original owner who wants it back and stick with the Shield 40. However, please don't get the idea that I am bashing Khar because I am not, I regularly carry a Khar P380 and PM9.

Camper,

That's a very good review on the comparisons of the Shield in 40 vs the Kahr PM40. I've had both and although the Kahr PM40 is good pistol, the Shield in 40 by far is a better quality and better muzzle control than the PM40. So Camper, you were dead on on the comparison. Thanks!
