Finally received my concealed permit and am looking for a comfortable IWB holster. Obviously not experienced in the carry department so I am looking for help. I am not the thinnest guy so I don't want something digging into my side. Thought I would carry in the 2-4 position (again...new to this). Anyone know about this brand and holster? I personally have never been able to use the words IWB and Comfortable, in the same sentence. The .45 is not that much larger than the 9mm Shield which I carry OWB with no problem at all and with all day comfort. If you are new to carrying, do yourself a favor and do not rule out OWB. A tee shirt tucked in and a button type shirt left untucked and unbuttoned will do the trick.

Finding the right holster and your preferred position to carry will involve some experimentation. This is why many of us have a number of holsters sitting in a drawer. The evolution of concealed carry as it applies to the specific individual...

Since you're new to concealed carry you might want to start with a holster that allows some adjustability while you try different positions.

The Vedder LightTuck is a very well constructed IWB holster that offers three ride height position and adjustable cant from 15 degrees forward to 15 degrees reverse. Such adjustment variation will go a long way in helping you decide what is going to work for ya.

They also make an excellent outside the waistband holster - the LightDraw - if you decide to go that route.

No affiliation but I have road tested the holster extensively and recommend it.

I have a model 135 for my 40c and one for my Shield. The padded backing is very comfortable and cool in hot weather. The c-clips hold it securely on my gun belt and they allow you to tuck your shirt in if you should need to.

Don't you fret none, I for one will never make you feel uncomfortable.

Now we can all tell you what works for us but as pointed out by some it comes down to a lot of trial and error and sometimes a lot of money spent trying to find that sweet spot so to speak.

I view CCW in many different ways, meaning while it may sound impressive to hear someone say they carry this that or the other you have to dig into what they mean by that.

Just about any semi healthy person can carry to the car and then to the office or work place or to the local store and back home again. But what about different terrains, let's say day in and day out walking sometimes 3 miles out on streets, dodging cars and cracks in the side walk, (and sometimes dogs) sometimes jogging across the street before the light changes, up hills, down hills while the whole time trying to keep your situational awareness in place.

How about while out on your walk you make your grocery run and than back with 10 lbs + on your back.

Do you see the point.
What I just described is my routine, I'm a walker always have been and now even more so because of some health issues.
Rain, Shine or Snow every single day.

And I have to visit sometimes many different scenarios and be prepared for it. And if you screw up you can end up losing your gun rights and even going to prison or end up getting jacked for your gun and or even killed for it.

Below is a modification I made to my Sticky Holster (I don't do kydex or leather it's not even in my vocabulary :)

Check out N82 holsters. N82 Tactical Holster Options | N82 Tactical. I have been carrying my sheld 9mm IWB since April and is truly comfortable. Yes I know it is there but it is not annoying. I have the "Professional" which is also a tuckable IWB holster. It is comfortable against my skin whether I am wearing an formal shirt or a tee-shirt.

Just wanted to add an update. I have my 45 shield now and the N82 holster I purchased for my 9mm shield works with the 45 also. The barrel does protrude past the end of the kydex but the retention is still good. No new holster to carry my new EDC cannon.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I also own a Sig P938 and went with a Sticky holster, thanks Mulebuk Sam. I am still looking for a holster for my shield 45 though. Think I will purchase a hybrid for it.

Just purchased a hidden hybrid holster for my shield 45 very nice,
leather&kydex can be worn iwb or owb

Mulebuk Sam, you're my hero. Did your mod to my Remora and my Shield .45 now has a comfortable, tuckable, holster. Since my clip only has one screw, I can adjust holster cant to suit my needs. Thanks!

FYI to all, check out Comp-Tac.com for a great selection of different types of kydex and hybrid holsters, all made for the Shield .45ACP. They also make a specific OWB mag pouch for the Shield .45ACP mags. I have done business with this company for several years. They make very fine quality products and they are a great company to do business with, in my experience. Many folks recommend their various belt clips as replacements for other brands whose belt clips are less than desirable. If you like the kinds of holsters this company makes, I can tell you they are very well constructed and designed and very long lasting. There is plenty of information on their website to allow you to understand exactly what you are getting when you buy any of their products. Open the website, click on holsters, then choose IWB holsters and take a look. I don't think you will be disappointed, based on my own personal experience. Good luck!
