During my last 14 years of work I carried a Glock 23. Upon retirement in 2014 I was gifted a Shield 9mm. After carrying and qualifying with the Glock I found the Shield grip a little narrow even though I have average size hands. I have had the grip glove since started carrying the Shield. Really fills out the grip. If you find the Shield grip too small/narrow I recommend . Is anyone else using one?

I have a similar Hogue device on a very early Steyr M9 because there is little to no grip texture. I also have one on a Ruger LC9s in an attempt to deal with the way its narrow grip transfers recoil. It helped some, but not as much as hoped. Weird thing is a Walther PPS M2 doesn't beat on me at all despite its small grip. The recoil impulse is entirely different.

I put the Hogue version on my 9mm Shield 1.0. I just could not get a good solid grip on the pistol, it just constantly wanted to squirm around in my hands when fired and as a result I never shot it very well. I even stippled the grip and that helped some but not enough.
I have never had the same issue with the .45 Shield, of course it had the 2.0 texturing and I guess the .45 grip is just enough fatter to enable me to get a solid grip.

I tried the Pachmayer in the past and it felt like I was holding the kid's slime, too squishy. The last Shields I bought were both PC versions and the previous owner had installed Hogue Hand-all's on both. Fortunately for me, I shot them with the Hogue's on. While I usually use the grips from Talon, the Hogue's added just enough extra that I decided to stick with them. The great thing about any of these is we have options.
