A good deal on a shield plus with 5 mags range bag, $50. rebate. I wanted one with a safety but dealer says the package only comes with the non safety version. Is this correct? Thanks, Mike

I just bought this package and believe it only comes with the non-safety version of the Shield Plus. The bug-out bag seems well made. Just wish it were a small pack instead of the over-the-shoulder bag. Wearing a shoulder bag makes me feel like a lib.

I just did the rebate thing on the internet and about 3 days later I got an email from S & W stating that my gun didn’t qualify!

I just bought this package ...

I've been looking at that package through RKguns.com, $479 after the current $50 rebate, then add $13 for shipping. I have some questions, if you guys can help me. EDIT: RK Guns upped their price to $600, then minus the $50 rebate.

Smith & Wesson M&P9 SHIELD Plus 9mm Optics Ready Bug Out Bundle w/ Five Mags, First Aid Kit and Bug Out Bag 13593 : RK Guns

1. Are the four mags 10 or 13 round? All the pics show 13 rounders, RK Guns said you get the 10 rounders. EDIT: It's 13 round mags. Don't let RK Guns send you ten rounders like they tried to do to me

2. Is the gun ported? It's not the Performance Center model yet it does have front/rear tritium night sights.
Edit: Not ported.

Getting 3 more 13 round mags which are currently $41 each ($123) seems like a good deal. Is this package a good deal or not?

FYI I already have a Shield9 Plus, no external safety and the two standard 10 & 13 round mags.

Shield Bug out bag comments

I wish the bag didn't say "Smith & Wesson M&P" across the top so big - nothing like advertising whats inside! The deal was a good one. There is one 10 rnd and four 13 rnd mags. also a firstaid kit worth about $5. However, the 4 supposedly 13 round mags..... on all 4 of the ones I got, you have to be the hulk to get that 13th round in. Maybe after they break in a bit they'll be ok, but brand new... no way without a sledge hammer. Also, through RK Guns, if you ship to their store shipping is free.

What Kevin said -- four 13-rounders that won't accept 13 rounds and one 10-rounder. The barrel is not ported. So far, mine has proven very easy to shoot well, although I need to polish the trigger parts.

So basically if you use a mag loader theirs no problem getting the 13th round in the mag?

Correct, upLula is the way to load these, at least until they're broke in.

I already had a 9 plus, but after buying a 45 Shield PC with tritium sights, and this go bag deal having all the magazines and coming with non safety model(my preferred version) it seemed like a no brainer with the tritium sights.

Mine get tough at 12, even with a lula.. But it you tap the baseplate on the bench, then try agian they generally slip right in. The tapping allows the rounds to align themselves, so the last one will fit..

I picked my bugout package at locked and loaded for $504 delivered with the insurance. The package only offers the no safety model. It came with 4 13rd 1 10rd mags. It’s not ported. It is optics ready with night sights. Mags are currently $29.99 at CDNN.
Hope this helps.

How did you get that price without having to pay a FFL fee? My local guy charges $40. Should I be shopping for an FFL which doesn't charge that much?

They gave me the $504 price quote via email, down from $550 on the web site. Add $15 for shipping or $20 for shipping & insurance. I took the insurance so this is costing me $525 plus local FFL $20, $545 minus the $50 rebate, so $495 for the BOB bundle. I paid $550 + tax for my first Shield9 Plus when they first came out. I feel this is an excellent deal.

This is a quote from my earlier post. ^^^

RK Guns got back to me saying I only got one 15 round mag and the rest 10 rounders. I replied telling them I thought they were ripping me off substituting the cheaper 10 rounders for the four 15 rounders included in the bundle. A big thank you to the guys here for helping me with that info.

Follow up from RK Guns: Well shazamm they sent back an email almost immediately telling me that the guy who told me they were ten rounders asked another guy who said they would be 15 rounders. I had already cancelled that order and ordered instead from lockedloaded .com.

THANK YOU to the S&W community here who steered me away from a **** company trying to rip me off and into a fine on-line company saving me $100 in the process.
