Shield sear: 2.0 in a 1.0?

What would be your reason for doing this? Unless you do other upgrades to your 1.0 you will see no noticeable difference. 1.0 and 2.0 Shields have for the most part the same internal parts...S&W just tweaked them a little bit Watch this video [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuVeqLc-ESU&t=1161s[/ame]

Has anyone successfully installed a S&W Shield 2.0 sear in a 1.0 Shield pistol? If so, is it a simple drop in replacement?

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield M2.0 Sear: MGW

Here is an Apex sear that will fit your Shield 1.0. I installed one on my 9mm Shield about 5 years ago. It is a huge improvement over the factory sear. Much crisper break, better reset, and lowered the trigger pull to 5 lbs. from 6½ lbs.

The one you linked to is 5 bucks, and I wouldn't expect much from it. Go with the Apex sear if you want a better trigger. It is pretty much the gold standard and worth the $41.95.

There is also a "How to" video on the web page.

I have installed the Apex sear in my 1.0 Shield and love the 4.5 lb trigger pull. I own a 2.0 Shield and it has a 5.5 lb trigger pull from the factory that I do not plan to alter. The $5 ea. 2.0 S&W sear I linked to is a substantial savings over the cost of the Apex sear. I am thinking if it is a drop-in fit it could vastly improve the 1.0 trigger performance with a $35 savings over the Apex.

I was asking if anyone had tried this approach to trigger improvement of the 1.0 Shield. It may be a roughly equivalent performance improvement at very attractive price point.

I'm not sure there's a big difference in the 1.0 vs 2.0 sear. Both still use the loop on the trigger bar. Also, judging from the picture, it's looks similar as well.

But for $5 (plus shipping) could be a good experiment.

I did put a 2.0 sear in my fullsize. In fact, I did the whole sear block and trigger bar to get the full 2.0 trigger. The sear alone was basically the same as the performance center sear I already had in it so the sear swap alone didn't improve anything.

I just pulled out my 1.0 box and inspected the 1.0 sear I removed. I agree with Saudade: if the picture of the 2.0 is correct then there is VERY little observable difference in the 1.0 / 2.0 sear.

$5 replacement sear: if it smells too good to be true....
