I purchased a Glock 43 for Christmas and added the PEARCE 43+1 which increased the magazine capacity to 7+1

I have pocket concealed my Glock in the same holster I use for my Shield which is the Desantis Nemesis fit for the Glock 26.

I wanted to see if I noticed any difference in weight and I have to say after 3 days at work I feel a little less tug with the Glock 43

I placed it on a postal scale and with 8 rounds of 124 grain Gold Dot the weight is as follows:

Shield with flush magazine. 24.1 oz

Glock with PEARCE pinkie extension 43+1 and rubber grip tape. 21.8 oz

2.3 oz difference over the course of a full work day believe it or not makes a noticeable difference when pocket packing.

I feel less tug.

I don't have a Shield but I do have a G43. I have read comments that
said the 43 was too big or heavy for pocket carry. My 43 with 6 rds of
115 gr HPs in the Glock flat base magazine is a little over 20 oz on my
kitchen scale and carries easily in a jeans pocket. Glock got it right
with the 43 and I think it's going to be a very popular model for them.

Try the PEARCE pinkie 43+1. Increases your round count by one and still fits in the pocket.

My Glock 43 is really growing on me. I love the Pearce pinkie and my rubber grip tape.

I was torn gifting my Shield to my daughter for Christmas. I really loved my Shield, but I think I made the right move. The Shield is a great weapon but the Glock 43 is 10% lighter in the pocket and every ounce makes a difference over the course of a day pocket packing.

Correct on the weight, but there is still a more important factor to weigh in.

Its still a Glock!!!!!!!

I'd rather take my chances with a little more weight. And a manufacture that has 100+ years experience building weapons compared to the other. But then again, thats just me.

More important than 2-3 ounces is what fits you best. The Glock even with its extended magazine still didn't fit me as well as the shield with its extended magazine. I have large hands.

Before getting my Shield my LEO daughter was pushing hard for me to get a Glock. I rented the Shield and Glock 43. Both shot well and were very comparable in performance but the Shield just felt better in my hand. I liked the extra round or 2 and the price better as well.

Glad you like it!

They're both great guns for their intended purpose and it's ok to like both. :)

I don't have the 43, but am thinking of getting one - or maybe a 42.

I've never shot the Shield...sure it is a great gun. But I have the Glock 43 and love it. I also just added the Pearce +1 mag extensions and they look great with the gun. I have an Alabama Holster kydex pocket holster, a leather OWB holster from Desantis, and some type of very nice carbon fiber IWB holster that works either at the 4 o'clock position or appendix carry. I have also heard that the Glock 43 is too big to pocket carry, but it physically is about the same as my S&W 642 which I carry in my front pocket all the time. So, while I do prefer revolvers by S&W, I also have a couple of Glocks and they are awesome - have never had any type of issue/failure of any kind. Best wishes and Happy New Year, B
