Is the 9mm and 40 Shield frames the same? Can you put the 9mm barrel and magazine on to the 40 Shield and vice versa with the 40 barrel and mag and have it work?

Yes... You can use a .40 Slide & Barrel on a 9mm, or a 9mm Slide Barrel on a .40.
And... The Shield V1 or V2 Slides can be used on the Shield Plus.

You need to use the slide and barrel for the same caliber unless you've got one of those conversion barrels.

And... The Shield V1 or V2 Slides can be used on the Shield Plus.

Heck.........I made it simple......Bought both 9mm & 40.

If you have a shield 40 S&W you can order a 9mm "conversion"
and a 357sig barrel.
The 9mm needs the 9mm mag the 357sig can uses the 40 mag
They both use the same slide spring
I have done it " Remsport barrel"

Yes... I have a V1 and an OR Plus and swap the Slides/barrels periodically... Basically using my Plus Slide with Holosun EPS Carry
on my V1

Out of curiosity, you just want to put the Shield Plus OR upper on the Shield 9mmor 40s&w lower?

Well Armed, to answer your question I plan to purchase a Shield Plus OR. I just like the idea of being able to use the OR upper on my V1 lower if I so choose. No special reason other than the compatibility.

Why put the Plus slide on a V1 frame?

Why Not??? Actually, I like the trigger on my V1 (with Apex Hard Sear) much better than the factory trigger on my Shied Plus, but I like the Holsun EPS Carry.
