Since no one has answered with a date, I'll share what I know. My own 63-3 with s/n prefix BUB shipped in July of 1995.

I will say that if you found one at a reasonable cost buying it would be a very good idea. I "overpaid" for mine 7-8 years ago, and prices seem to have doubled since.

Had a no dash 63 in the past.
Last week, the shop had one @$675, very tempted to have a pair, one RB, one SB, but at this point in my life, I don't know if I want to retain my PL since it now appears that my state will want me to take 16 hours of class room education and 2 hours of range time, to retain it when it expires next year.
