I picked this up from my LGS almost three years ago, but this is the first I've posted about it.

I stopped by to see if anything new was in the case, and there it was- a nickel 6.5" 29-2, and the price was $450!

There were some blemishes, and the front sight insert was gone, but I could live with those for that price. The target stocks were pretty chewed up, but no problem, those are too big for my hand anyway. So it got Hogue Goncalo Alves. And soon after I bought it, I fashioned an insert for the front sight with some JB Weld.

I bought it with the notion that I'd have the barrel trimmed to 3.5" for another big-bore snubby, but after shooting it, I decided against it. When a gun shoots as good as this one, I need to just leave it alone.

This photo doesn't do it justice, it's nicer than it looks, but not so nice that I wouldn't use it for its intended purpose.

Side note: I bought this about a month after I bought my 28-2, which, coincidentally, was also $450. Two n frames in a month for under a grand, I figure I did okay, even if it was three years ago.

Even three years ago, a Model 29 of any kind at that amount was an outstanding deal. The Flitz works well and I have also used Mother's Mag Wheel Polish on nickel and stainless handguns with good results.
