Shotgun Shell Bike Theft Alarm

Just make sure you have LOTS of money to hire the lawyers who will be defending you against all of the law suits. I'm sure the bad guy who tries to steal the bike will file a hearing loss suite against you! When any explosive device is used, the law suits against you will be for "intent to cause grievous bodily damage" or""attempted murder."

they didn't show a pix of it.. but my guess is that it could easily be altered to use live shells.. from the short 2 1/2" on up... that would make it an unregistered short barreled shotgun... the law doesn't require that they would be able to be fired more than once

Also it would be my guess that this would be ruled to be a prohibited destructive device... Back in the 1800's & early 1900's, alarm guns & guns that were used as part of a trap/anti-burglar device were available if not uncommon... Like a shotgun rigged to go off if someone opened a door...I'm wanting to say that all post 1934 guns, if not all the earlier ones too, that used cartridges are /were ruled to be illegal..My guess is that he didn't consult any US lawyer with knowledge of our firearms laws... I'm surprised that the Brit laws aren't even more restrictive than ours are. This is one goofy idea.

Although very little would give me more pleasure than knowing a thief would be messing his pants, I believe the bill presented to me by my lawyer for representing me in a law suit would have me messing my pants.

Also, it seems that this device is very simple to bypass. Cut the wire, undo the velcro, and toss aside the device. Or, take the device and leave the bike.

shotgun alarm can be bought on the internet they are legal . The shells must be blanks. thats why they are called alarms. great for sheds, garages, doors, windows and what ever else you own on your property. Lightweight fishing line works better its harder to see

Can they be altered to use or fire live ammo? This is very goofy at best... Like was said above.. folks will look for them to steal & perhaps turn against the people who used them to begin with...and if someone is hurt/burned/damaged hearing etc by this type of device.. my guess is that you will lose everything you own in the ensuing lawsuit...If a child accidently tripped it & was hurt/burned...killed... Lord help you...Ask your insurance agent on your home owners policy if they will cover your use of this type of alarm/device/trap.... My guess is that they will cancel you.... & dam quick too.

its a 12 gauge shotgun alarm blanks only they are loud can also be used with a 12 gauge signal flare but i would worry about fire then. to be safe you would mount the noisy part farther away to protect the thief s hearing. We like it its cheap and i would like a heads up if im going to be robbed.Check it out use google and look up 12 gauge alarm. I did ask my local L.E.O. and was told as long as they are used for alarms only they are legal. A bell an air horn are also loud just like on a fire truck it gets attention. i dont know if they can be altered looks like to much work. I would think if i told my insurance company i had an alarm system they might give me a discount. sorry not trying to be a smart az just tired of having stuff stolen, things have changed since ive been a kid and that was a long time ago

my fear/worry is a child tripping it & getting a terrible burn or losing an eye from the daam thing going off. One of the many benefits of living in a small town is that neighbors watch out for neighbors. I understand your anger on being ripped off...I worked union commercial construction in KC, Mo., for many years.... there was many a time that we had to have a guy & at times several guys, to stay with our work trucks... just to make sure they weren't picked clean of tools & supplies
