Should I get an Apex trigger on M&P Performance Center Core?

I just purchased an M&P Performance Center Core Ported 5 inch. The trigger pull feels good but I can't stand the feel of the actual trigger itself. I was thinking about putting an Apex trigger on it and wondering if I should just get the trigger or the full trigger kit with all the other goodies? Also, is it worth considering the flat faced or just regular Apex curved?

Thanks.

You can count on Randy Lee at Apex to do a great job for you. I've been dealing with him for years.

I would recommend the total trigger job. Then you know everything will be right.

I hated the hinged trigger in all my S&W's so I put in some Apex triggers. My Performance Center Ported CORE already had a good feeling trigger except for the hinge. I was going to just out in a flat faced trigger l, but decided to just go ahead and do the whole FSS kit. The kit ( springs, sear, etc.) did make the trigger a little better but the biggest difference was in the actual trigger. Just not having the hinge was night and day difference for me. Some people I've talked to said their PC COREs have a crappy stock trigger, but mine didn't. If your trigger pull and reset feels good stock then I would just get the apex trigger and leave the springs and sear alone. If you can I would get the flat faced. I have both and like the flat one better. If your picky about having a good reset that you can hear and feel, the Apex RAM definitely will do this. Anyway, have a merry Christmas and congratulations on your new pistol.

I can recommend the Flat face trigger and forward sear kit. I like it better than the stock hinge trigger, although the stock trigger wasn't terrible. Its a bit lighter too.

Does the apex kit give the trigger a more distinct reset similar to a glock?

Just remember, the flat faced trigger from Apex is only designed to work with a forward set sear. According to Randy it won't work with the standard sear. I've often thought about verifying that since I have all the parts lying around, but never generated the interest to actually do it.

Don't see the need on mine...but it is YOUR money. do as you see fit!
