I had a 1.0 PC Shield 9 that was ported, frankly I bought that model as I liked the sights and the slightly better trigger. In shooting it vs a std Shield, any benefit from porting was minimal at best. Maybe it is more pronounced in larger calibers/longer barrels.
The one hurdle I had with it was ammo based, and many may not care either way. But a good portion of the range ammo was marked "not for ported use" and when checking that with the manus they had some brands with thinner plating that could come off. And other brands that were fine. Now was that just a legal cover their bum answer? Sure could be. But as I had that Shield pre covid when about any ammo was available and inexpensive I just used what worked for me and didnt have any disclaimers. These days that could be harder to do.
So while I had no trouble with that ported Shield (except yes it gets dirty) I wouldnt want to own one again. Just my .02.
