do any of you carry your model 29 in a shoulder holster? i need recommendations where i can buy a good quality leather shoulder holster that will completely hide my model 29 and still be Comfortable. tried the cheaper ones and they just don't work. i know they are big heavy guns and may be hard to conceal but i like my model 29

Probably not what you're looking for but the Double Diamond Guides Choice chest holster looks really cool!

I have an Alessi "Fieldmaster" for a 6" 629. The holster is vertical, but pivots forward when you pull on the grip, so the draw is nearly horizontal. It's held vertical by a quick snap and an optional thumb break snap. The harness is adjustable, and very comfortable. It conceals well under a loose jacket.

Unless you're looking to carry this exposed outside your clothing while in the filed or while hunting I think that you will rapidly find that it is NOT a great way to tote such a heavy gun. I have bought a few shoulder holsters for smaller frame guns over the years and could just never get comfortable with the straps, harness, jacket required over the holster, and just the whole concept of being strapped up. Most guys who carry on any sort of regular basis would probably state similar results, buy hey....... YMMV.

That Monarch rig is a good looking rig. I've been looking for something like that for farm carry. I have a nylon shoulder holster from Eagle Industries that works well, but l want to upgrade to all leather. Thank you for the suggestion.

Another thing I have to add about Sam, is he is one of the most decent businessmen you can ever deal with. Sam has answered the phone himself a couple times I have called, and answered any and all questions I had about holsters and even added a lot of advice & suggestions based on what I was looking for.

Spoke with someone who ordered a Monarch Rig back in January, believe Sam is quoting around a 3 months turn around.

Sam's "Traditional Leather" site, is in desperate need of better pics as the one's he has up don't do him justice. Check out his more updated "Exotic leather" site for some better quality pics.
