This section is slowing a little bit, so I thought I would jump start it with some "Big 3" pictures. Post any Heiser Leather Holsters, Belts, Sheaths, Ammo Slides, Gun Rugs, etc. You know we all like pictures!

I will start it with one of my favorites. It is a Heiser Model 2710 holster. It has the nickel spots, triple H rivets, and is made for a Colt SAA with a 4 3/4" barrel.

I only have one. It’s kind of scuffed up, but my 1947 Colt appreciates it. Came out of a used holster bin. Think it was $5.

My only Heiser product I got when I graduated from high school in 1961.
My grandfather told my Dad to take me to the Heiser plant in Denver so I could order a custom saddle.

We did as we were told and a week later returned to pick it up.
I still remember looking at all the leather goods in the display cases and the smell of the leather there.

If only I had known then what I know now.

Oh yeah, I still have the saddle.

Here are a couple I’ve acquired from two holster collectors. First is a Heiser 459 quick draw made for Evaluators for a 2 inch J-frame that came from crazyphil. Next is a Heiser 4 inch K frame #457. It is shown with a 1954 M&P. Both the holster and gun were acquired from my friend kansasgunner. The grips came from bigmtnman.

That is a great holster, and $5 really well spent! Your holster is lined and looks brand new. The brown enamel on the snap isn't worn at all.

Regards,

As usual, John, you post a real winner. I don't think I have seen it before. Having the matching bell is extremely cool too. In my years of collecting, I have never come across a Heiser belt. The rig looks like it just came out of the box. My question......have you worn it around the house yet?

I actually have these photos on another thread, but the holster is one of my favorite Heisers. So here ya are. Belt by Lawrence, 5” .44 Special by Keith44Spl and stocks by Keith Brown.

Here's one I have a pic handy of. This might be my most recently acquired Heiser, but I've had it for 3 or 4 years. It's a 757 that appears to be for either an 8-3/8" K frame, or I believe a 7-1/2" SAA would also be a good fit. That's a 6" K-22 in it here, and all I have in single actions is a 4-5/8" New Vaquero, but it also fits well with plenty of room for a longer barrel.

My two favorite Heisers. 5” N frame and 2” J frame.

Tim, I think I have told you before, every time you show that 2" J frame holster, if causes uncontrollable drooling from me. I absolutely love it!

Here are some I have on my phone

Bruce, is that a shotgun shell box holder?

Perhaps one of the more iconic Heisers, the 407 shown with a 1909 Colt New Service.

Lee, don't they call that holster a "Bullshead" holster or something like that?

With my 1938 Woodsman Sport, an acquisition courtesy of Turnerriver:

Onomea, that is a beautiful holster! John is nicer than me. You would have had to pry that one from me.:)

Wyo, I remember seeing those pictures, and you should show them anytime. I can see why it is a favorite Heiser. It is a great rig, and a couple of fantastic pictures.

Mark, I don't know if I have seen that one before. It is made for a "long tom" gun for sure. Sounds like to me a good excuse to buy a long barreled revolver.:D

"Lee, don't they call that holster a "Bullshead" holster or something like that?"
Larry, You are correct.

Today's collectors may call them that, but Heiser did not. This is 1923 from catalog No. 20:

20 heiser 1923 (26).jpg

It is from Heiser catalogs that we get the closest nomenclature we can for many 'old west' holsters such as the Mexican Loop; because that's what Heiser called it. But Heiser was not a gunleather maker until the early 20th century so who knows what the cowboys really called them then.
