Well, this topic proved illuminating in ways I didn't foresee. I like N-frames and I-frames, but I didn't realize until I started taking stock how many K-frames I have added to the heap. I am still under a dozen, but its amazing how opportunity purchases will inflate the holdings while one is not really paying attention.
Today I feel more affection for these two guns than for the others, but if you check with me next week the K-22s may be back on top, or even the 1905 Target or the badly renickeled .32-20. (Like the OP, I find my .32-20 a hoot to shoot, and I probably ought to pick up a wondersight for it.)
The early: a M&P Model of 1902 First Change with a slightly worn surface and excellent internals. Shipped 1904. I haven't shot this one yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
And the scarce: A K-32 Masterpiece (Pre-16) from early 1949. I have shot this one, and it is a delight to work with. This gun prints better for me than any of the K-22s and K-38s I have.
Since I mentioned the .32-20 and I kind of like it, I'll throw its picture on the screen as well. The action is sound and the bore and chambers bright. But that is really a sloppy renickel job. This is my ugly duckling K-frame. Shipped 1915.
