SHOW TOMORROW

If you just want a shooter and don't "need" a magnum, 4" M10 and M64s can be had for $300+/-.

Model 28-2s can be found for less than $500, if you look. They are hard to beat if you're planing on shooting a lot of hot 357 Magnum loads.

A 686 is also a good choice but, they are typically priced higher.

Then there is the "Combat Magnums" i.e. M19 and 66 they are fantastic revolvers but, don't shoot too many barn-burning 125gr. Magnums out of one. Prices on these are all over the place.

Clean Model 10's are getting harder to find for $300 these days. I just bought what I think is a nice one on a web auction for $380 with a 4" barrel. Some pretty ratty ones are up there for more than that though I can't believe anybody is dumb enough to pay that much for a rough one.

1st - caps lock off please, we can hear you

IMO you are far better off looking for a fair deal from a LGS or private seller than at a show.
A lot of over priced stuff and many dealers who's moral compass isn't pointing N.
If you know your stuff inside and out you may be able to find something at a show, but it is the domain of caveat emptor.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HEAR WITH YOUR EYES. CAN YOU SEE WITH YOUR EARS ALSO ? ? ?

I WOULD LOOK AROUND FOR A CLEAN USED 4" 686--MAYBE A POLICE TRADE IN. MY FRIEND JUST PICKED ONE UP FOR $420.00 OTD. IT'S ONE OF THE BEST .357s EVER MADE BY S&W, AND ARGUABLY, THE BEST .357 REVOLVER IN CURRENT PRODUCTION, IN THE WORLD……..……...
