I got an email from Sierra (guess I'm on the mailing list because I corresponded with them before) with this new ad, "Win a Sierra Bullets Hat in the "Are They Out There?" contest".

It says, "They may be rare, but we do believe they are out there. So grab your camera phone (or digital camera) and get out there and capture photographic proof of Sierra Bullets product on the shelf of your favorite gun shop or sporting goods store."

I don't see hardly any name brand handgun bullets out there, let alone Sierra's, do you? Some large calibers maybe, but almost nothing in 38/357, 9mm, 40/10mm. Wonder why they want you to look for them if nothing's changed? How about in your area?

That's actually kind of funny for a contest. I haven't seen any but part of the problem is I haven't visited a reloading store since Aug other than my shotgun supply place last month to get some wads and even they were all gone.

i wonder, do you think if I sent them a photo of a partial box of their bullets next to a few stacks of boxes of Nosler and Hornady bullets, maybe they would send me some .224-50 grain SPs that need instead of the hat? ; )

More than likely

Or...... I could take a few boxes into my LGS, put them on the shelf, take pictures, pick up the boxes and walk out. On second thought he might not like that, maybe I can get the WM greeter to hold the boxes instead. ;)

I have NEVER seen components at wm-

Me either??

I live a pretty major area of Florida and there are no LGS that sell components.:(

There are 100's of Wal Marts. They do not even have ammo.

There is a Bass Pro about 20 miles away that did have reloading stuff but they are wiped clean,

I drive by the Sierra factory a few times a week. I wonder if I went up and banged on the front door they would sell me some bullets?

Way back when...

I wonder if I sent in a picture of my shelf of personal stock?

That was my thought too! I've got more in my supply closet than most shops have on their shelf.

Look what I found in the shop today.

That looks like the old style Sierra box?

I don't know how they choose. Christiansburg and Wytheville WM both have a reloading section. RCBS dies and equipment, Sierra and Nosler bullets.

Way back when we had Skaggs/Albertson's here, only one of the area stores (six or so) sold sporting goods/ammo/reloading supplies. Also at that time, one of the metro J.C. Penneys sold sporting goods/ammo/reloading supplies too. No idea why, but it was nice.

I have to get to Vance's. They have dozens of boxes in several calibers. Same at Fin Feather and Fur.
