SIG P210-1 7.65mm Parabellum

I have wanted a 210 for as long as I can remember. I had just left the lgs the other day and was almost home when my friend called and told me that I might be interested in what just came in the door. Ok I say, tell me what it is and he replied a 210 in your favorite caliber and it has a 22 conversion kit with it. I tell him I'm just about home and that I would be by first thing next day and to please put it back until I can look at it. Next day comes around and I head that way. As I am looking at the pistol I'm wishing that it was in a little better condition and thinking that I didn't have any business spending that kind of money and what could I sell to offset the cost. Well, I lost the argument, it seems like I always lose the argument, and I now have a 210-1. Oh, it also came with 500 rds of fmj PPU and a spare mag for both the pistol and conversion unit.

I have seen other posts here with the 210's as the subject and am hoping someone might school me on the difference of the conversion unit magazines and what era they might indicate.
I also wonder what the ratio between the 9mm/30 calibers might be.

I have a P210 in 9mm and one in 7.65mm, but I don't have the .22 conversion unit.

These are perhaps the very best.

Unless something has changed[not likely] - the .22 mags are scarce & expensive in the states.
I'd doubt that this caliber[7.65] is also scarce in the states.

I'm guessing that it's a .30 because they were just changing over to 9mm from the .30 Luger. Some people may have had stocks of .30 ammo.

Yes, 7.65mm Parabellum is the original Swiss/German nomenclature for what we call .30 Luger here.

I recently learned that a DWM sales agent named Hans Tauscher, based in New York, was largely responsible for popularizing the Luger name with the pistol and caliber in the US.

The condition is nice, just the slightest hint of honest wear. I believe the polished blueing of the early guns was a bit less durable than the later brushed and sandblasted finish.

Your gun is nearly identical to my military 1949 210-1, with the flat checkered slide release

My civilian 210-1 in 7.65 is a lot younger, probably 1978

The 7.65 is even more accurate than the 9 mm, you will enjoy shooting it tremendously.

Nice ones you have there. 7.65mm Luger is an accurate round, I prefer it in my shooter Lugers over 9mm.

That’s correct. The official Swiss designation is Waffenfabrik Parabellum model of 1906.

For me it’s actually even more accurate than the 210, I always score a few points more, and use it a lot in military style shooting competitions.

But the 210 is a formidable gun, and 90 % of the shooters here use it. I think the super tiny sights on the Parabellum is a put off for many. For me it allows precise placement of the sights on the target.

In fact I just bought an old stock of Swiss military 7.65 mm ammo
