Sig P210

I've owned 210s on and off since the '80s; might say I am a bit of a fan. I currently have Swiss and German examples, and bought a US made 210 a few years ago. As much as anything, I bought the US 210 to confirm my preconception that it would be crap compared to the Swiss and German versions. Wrong! They are all fine reliable, accurate, precisely fitted pistols. Yes, The American 210A has MIM lockwork. As soon as it bends, cracks, crumbles, breaks or whatever, I will shout it out to the internet about how bad MIM, and SIGs in general, are;)
I think $1000.00 is a fair price for a nice example, and if you can get it for less, Great!

For that price buy it. I have one. It is the most accurate 9mm I have ever owned. I like the features on the US model. There is sometimes an issue with the guide rod breaking.

Bought a 210 Carry when they were first released, not the ugly scrolled one. Last pistol I would ever give up. Beautiful and Truly a mechanical work of art, accurate well beyond my capabilities.

Local pawn shop has a Sig P210. I dont know a whole lot about the 210 but know that it is a higher end and quality Sig Product. The pistol is very clean and has wooden stocks. It feels
really good in the hands and points naturally.
I did some research and know it is NOT the target model and is made in the USA which I understand occurred in 2019 so it is a fairly new gun, no marks on it and seems to have been taken care of.
My collecting interest is mainly nicer Smith Revolvers and Colt revolvers and automatics but I do venture into Lugers and Mausers and such.

They are asking a grand for it but I can probably get it for 800-900.

I rarely see these guns and the thought of a P210 intrigues me as I would use it as a shooter or a target gun and not a carry gun

Any opinions?
I have a P210A, Standard model, serial number 59B010XXX, it's the most accurate 9mm I've ever owned. On par with my S&W M41. A buddy has the "target" model and the only difference I see are his sights are adjustable and has a fancy set of target grips. Both have nice triggers but mine is a little lighter. Mine shot to the left and I centered th front and rear sights and now I blow the center out of the targets at 25 yards with cheap Blazer Brass 124 grain. If you can get a nice one for 800-900 buy it, you will not be disappointed.

I bough a Danish milsurp M49 at the now closed Hahn (Germany) Rod and Gun Club in 1995. Stupidly sold it a few years after coming back to the US. When a boatload of P210's hit the surplus market a few years ago I bit the bullet and bought two, with holsters, and managed to find some spare mags. Those will not ever get sold in my lifetime.

I purchased the P210 Target version a few years ago and while it doesn't give me the kind of accuracy I read about in various test reports it is none the less a very well made handgun . The fit and finish is excellent and I have no regrets with the purchase.

I've owned a Swiss SIG P210-2 9mm pistol since I bought it new in the mid-80s---Wholesale price (I was managing a gun store at the time), was about $1,200. bucks if I remember right, with a total of five magazines... These days, with many pistols selling for over a $1,000., that's nothing special, but back in the 80s that was a LOT of $$$ for a pistol! I also bought a brand new SIG factory 22LR conversion kit (with three 22LR magazines) for $800. The gun has always shot extremely well both as a 9mm and a 22 (pretty much equal to my S&W Model 41 target pistol). These days, since I long-ago traded off the Model 41 for a Colt SAA in 44 Special, the P210 is mostly shot with the 22 conversion unit installed...
