A friend texted me tonight telling me his hunting buddy is trying to sell a SIG to free up some funds for hunting season.

It is a SIG P220 Elite Dark with SRT (short reset trigger). It includes 4 8-rd mags and 1 10-rd mag, case/manual, SIG Retention Holster. (I think new it came with 2 or 3 of the 8-rd mags.)

I think these are Elite Dark features: Nitron finish and SIG Lite Night Sights (adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation)

Extras are:
a threaded barrel for suppressor with cap.
leather DeSantis mag carrier

Less than 600 rounds put through it.

"Asking $1,200. There is almost $1,700 worth of equipment here. Would consider offers."

From what I could find, I think the pistol with factory accessories had a MSRP of $1,200. I don't know how much the threaded barrel cost. It would be neat to have, but t wasn't on my wish list.

I have always loved another friend's DA/SA SIGs. Would offering $1,000 be reasonable?

It appears this model is discontinued. Can any SIG lovers tell me what new model most closely replaces this model and what most LGSs sell them for?

Thank you!

I just looked at one in pristine condition on gunbroker with a "buy it now" price of $1050 with 2 8 round magazines. The bidding is at $610 right now and will be going for less than 2 more days.

"Sig Sauer P220 ELITE - Short Reset, Tritium Sights - This auction is for the pictured Sig Sauer P220 Elite pistol. Chambered for .45 ACP, 3.9" barrel, DA/SA, front cocking serrations, ergonomic beavertail grip, Picatinny rail, black Nitron finish, Siglite adjustable combat sights, decocker, wood grips....Comes with box, two mags, etc. This pistol is in excellent condition - no less than 95%"

I have an old p220 and I love it. I have 5 other SIG DA/SA pistols as well and they are all sweet.

If your spending $1000 for a P220 I'd buy the Stainless Elite version. It's an all stainless beauty and is either discontinued or going to be. I have the P226 and P229 in stainless and they just feel incredible. One on GB for under $900.

He might have invested $1700 when he purchased it NEW, it is not $1700 worth of used gear, not even close.

A factory threaded barrel has an MSRP of roughly $200+, but if you are not going to use it, then it has a value of $0 when sizing up the package.

I would be offering more like $900 for this used package, after all it is a P220 with 3 extra magazines.

If I am going to buy a used firearm in excellent condition, I want to buy it at around 25% less than what the new one would cost me. More than that and I will buy a new one that comes with a factory warranty.

But then I already have lots of P220s and I am willing to wait for the right deals. I have been shooting/carrying a P220 for 4 decades now

Thank you all for your replies and Colt SAA for the $900 suggestion. I'll get more info through my friend on Tuesday and then consider making an offer.

If he's not going to use the barrel then it's worthless. If any of the mags are Pro Mag I'd avoid them too.

Having owned one old 220 I don't see that high of a value in them especially if it's just going to sit around.
