Does that say West Germany on the slide???? If so most would consider it's got a premium value..... best of the Sigs. If it does..... bluing looks good from the pics... gun dates to pre 1990

Three things to consider" Condition, condITION and CONDITION

Not enough info or pictures of the 586 to give you any advice............

Looks nice. $600 - 650 around here, even w/o the original case. P228s bring a premium over P226s, and they aren't making them anymore.

YOU DIDN'T SAY HOW MUCH

you paid for the Sig. I believe I'd keep it. Without knowing what else you may already have, the condition of the 586, & how bad you want it.

It just says Germany on the slide. It is a good shooter for sure. I'll see if I can get some pictures of the Smith. I really have zero use for either pistol, other than pass downs to my kids when I'm worm dirt.

If I had the 586 I would definitely make the trade with you. The P228 has a good reputation in the Sig community. I had one once a long time ago. Traded it and have regretted it ever since.

Local shop has a few 228s around $380 and 226s at 349.

They are the exception however :D

Plus the guns came from PR so they have been used as a baton more than as a handgun

Thankyou all for the responses. Please PM me the Name of your LGS with the P229 for 349 I'll drive up and pick one up tomorrow. Thanks again

GT Distributors in Dallas had several PR trade in 226 and 228s in 9mm. They have often had 226/229 in 40 and 357sig around $400.

They have had a 10% off used gun sale the last two weeks that would taken care of the tax.

I assume the Austin and Rosseville GA stores also had various Sigs that came in.
