Hey guys, I wanted to find out if anyone had any input on the X series from Sig? I am looking at a new Sig X-Press, the cheapest X series 9MM and was looking for any input. Also I was looking for that X Mount and pricing for it and the jet tunnel magwell, any ideas guys? Smokin deal up here in Canada at $1545 tax included!

Post your question over on the SigTalk forum. I see it appear there quite often. Should get some answers.

I do not own one but have held them at the store. I has a great feeling to it and the finishing of course is sig solid. The reviews I have read are outstanding. I chose the single stacked sig p210 legend target and have enjoyed every minute of it!

I picked one up about 1 1/2 years ago - not much to say except it's pretty much what you would expect for a fairly high end Sig - flawless craftsmanship, accuracy and finish - doesn't get much better. That's about what I paid (well maybe $1600.)

Here's some pics for you - I added some Nils to it later:

I bought my X-5 in '07, IIRC. They are impressive guns IMHO. Mine is about as acccurate as anything I've ever owned, and has never malfunctioned with any kind of ammo I've tried in it. Assuming the X-press is built to the same standards, I would think it is a very nice gun.

I have 2 - X6's (a 226 and a 220) as well as a P-210. All outstanding guns and as good, if not better, than guns I own at twice the price.

It is very difficult for us in America to comment on pricing and parts/accessory availability for you in Canada.

It must have been 6 or 7 years ago when I bought my first X-family pistol. These Mastershop pistols replace the older Sport family of pistols from SIG.

Like the Sport family, the X-family are all hand fitted, precision pistols. They have 15MM heavy, match grade target barrels and have reworked single action trigger breaks. The DA action is unmodified on Mastershop firearms.

The X5s are spectacular firearms. My first was a 9MM X5. I was so impressed that I quickly added a 45ACP X6

Then I decided I wanted one of the SA/DA X5 Allrounds for carry. Si I picked up one in 9MM

I came across a Allround in 40 that needed a new barrel, so I bought it and fitted a 357SIG barrel to the firearm. WOW what a flat shooting pistol.

Then SIG had to go and bring in 200 X5 Tactical models with threaded barrels. So I picked one up for use with my cans

So now I wanted to go with the longer barrels of the X6. Well so many of them have exotic finishes it was tough to decide

Let me end by saying with all the words that you have read in this thread, we have still not properly explained the awe and mystique that comes from shooting an X-family pistol. There are no words that can convey the feeling of shooting one of these works of art for the first time. To truly understand the love and passion that X-family owners have for these pistols, it must be experienced for yourself.

As I always do, if you were local to me, I would gladly offer you the opportunity to shoot one yourself. Perhaps you can find a shooting associate in your area would will let you have some trigger time.
