Sightmark magnifier mount?

Hello, I'm new to the S&W forum but I've been snooping on here for quite a while, (lol read through every page and about half the posts) you guys all have great information!

Soo here's my turn to ask the question...

I bought my M&P 15T a couple months ago and have been adding various things to my new beloved EBR. Anyways I bought a sightmark ultrashot QD reflex sight and I love it! ( seen the Eotechs but just don't have enough for it at the moment). Today I was at gander MTN they had a sightmark 3x magnifier with STS mount. I got the whole package for 53$ yeah for that price I couldn't resist that..

I knew from research that the slide to side mount isnt too stable and I can verify that in fact it is NOT stable! Way too much play! Soo what I want to know is I don't mind spending a decent amount on a good Flip to side mount, is there any quality mounts that will fit a sightmark I mean it is just a regular 30mm...

**As far as the magnifier goes however it is a very nice piece of equipment, feels sturdy, clear, good to focus, only downside is u gotta get your eye pretty close, so I'm happy with my purchase esspecially for the price I just want a better mount cause their mount SUCKS!

I bought a 5X Power Sightmark a few months ago the sts mount was all flimsy so I took a Hammer to it and smashed it all up. I'll blame that on PTSD.

Still interested in sightmark I wanted the 7 Power one but they were out so I bought the 5 Power again as it turned out the STS is super stable for one reason. I also have a reflex sight but its some kind of zombie edition.

But anyways your can try to move the sight and scope close together to a point where they are touching when the scope is engaged and touching the sight it just might take up that play.

But the answear your question yes you can get a different type of mount I know the vortex one will fit the scope but I think that mount is close to 100 dollars if im not mistaken.

How close is your eye to the Scope ? Maybe your not lining up your eye right ? maybe you need to adjust the windage and elevation.

I have the Vortex 3x magnifier 'flip-mount' on my 'fiteen double deuce' which also has a fair amount of play whether deployed or not.

LaRue Tactical has a QD flip mount for 30mm tubes which the Aimpoint 3X magnifier employs which still has a little movement when deployed but works much better then the Vortex.

Just grab the magnifier, pull it back and flip it over. It's spring loaded.

I use this on my M&P 15 Behind a Trijicon SRS. Not cheap but well worth the money, very strong and stout and actually just turns away to the side and is quick detachable and my Troy battle sights are still on my gun.

I like the primary arms side-flip magnifier mount on mine...nice and tight, no noticeable play in the positions...
