I missed the memo, cold someone please point me to it or tell me -- "What do the letters following the caliber designation in the Sigma model numbers mean?"

Were there revisions, if so , what were they?

Thanks,

There are really only two models in current production. Current production is essentially the third revision: "E". There are three color variations.
SW9VE
SW: Smith and Wesson
9: 9mm
V: Value
E: enhanced

SW40VE
40: .40 S&W

If you see a "G", it's green. (SW9GVE)

The Allied forces model has a black slide, but the same model markings.

And before you ask, no you can't switch parts between the 9 and 40 and have 2 calibers on one gun: the frames and magazines are different.

I thought VE stands for version enhanced, but anyway, the F series is the original (I own a work horse 9F that I can't break) and there's at least a few other versions including the C series,G series, et al.

I have a SW40P where the P stand for Ported Barrel. Parts are interchangeable with the SW40VE.
