OK, I have searched for a thread on what the pull weight should be after a 1000 or so rounds through a SW9VE, to no avail. As far as I can figure, the trigger weight on mine is about 16 lbs, is that about right? I can shoot it ok, but am wondering if it would be more accurate with a lighter trigger.
Thanks

Wow, 16 lbs is like picking up a bowling ball with your finger. Mine is between 8 and 10 and pretty easy to shoot well.
Actually I shoot my Sigma as well or better than the rest of my handguns, maybe because I practice with it more due to it's defense role...

If it's really 16 lbs, then give S&W a call. Can't find a reference right now but the factory trigger weight is spec'd at 11.5-12 lbs. After break-in or polishing it will be a little less.

Did you MEASURE the trigger pull-- or just figure it was 16# ? If it is 16#, there is something wrong with it and it needs to be serviced.

I used a hand held luggage scale to measure the weight. My SW990L trigger breaks at 7-8 lbs, and my Mark III 22/45 breaks at 3-4 lbs using this method.

Just shoot about two thousand rounds through it and it will reduce it to about 15lbs. It should also start to get smoother.

It should be 12 pounds tops. After 1000 rounds you should be in the 9-10 pound range. After almost 19,000 rounds, mine is at 8 pounds stock. If you put it on a trigger scale and it's really 16 pounds, you need to send it in. I know what a 16 pound trigger feel like when I had my Rossi 972 revolver. Not fun!

Good luck and let us know what you come us with.

Talked with Customer Service, they are sending a prepaid mailing label to send the gun in and have it checked out. So far, so good. Will send updates as I receive them.

I shot my Sw40VE today for the first time. I knew ahead of time that the trigger pull was a little heavy, after reading comments from other Sigma owners, but it was managable. I put maybe 75 rounds through it, and it was fun to shoot. Takedown and cleaning was a snap, my stepson shot his new Kimber and that was a pain to take down! But he also has an SW9VE and he liked the way it shot.
