I called S&W a whilte back about refinishing my aluminum framed 342 AirLite Ti and they said they could do it. Quoted $180 and change. I asked about the 442 finish, M&P finish, and the PD finish - the guy said they could do any of those, with the white lettering as well.

Picked her up today and it's beautiful! The finish looks perfect. The lettering, logo are in white and also perfect. I'll try to get some pictures up later also. They charged me $134.00 shipped.

For a before picture just look for an old used pre-lock mim silver 342 AirLite Ti with the lacquered finished coming off in pieces, chunks. If you wear glasses and had / have a titanium frame, you'll see the cheaper ones' finish flake off like the S&W lacquered silver finish.

To compare triggers; I have a recently purchased no-lock 642-1 which was sent to Karl Sokol at Chestnut Mountain for his trigger job and got that back also. Karl's trigger job is sweet, but the stock 342Ti trigger is smoother and much better! Both are mim unfortunately, or fortunately (?) in the case of the 342Ti, imHo.

Original lettering on the right side of the bbl shroud had the +P designation in two lines.

According to the Smith & Wesson Performance Center® Gunsmithing Services page, refinishing is quoted at $180.

My invoice states that the cost was $150.00 + $14.00 shipping. They tacked on (off) a 20 percent discount for what I have no idea, but who am I to argue? Total = $134.00 shipped!!!

My opinion of Smith & Wesson customer service is raised to a higher level than I would have thought possible. They are, imHo, the pinnicle of customer service for other companies to emulate.
