I was given a nice single point sling for my rifle and need advice on an easy to install single mount for it.

Is there one that does not require the removal of the castle nut for iunstallation?

Will the Blackhawk item that I can get at Walmart work ok for this?

Any helpful advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

The only other thing I have to add is make sure you keep a hold of your rifle. Single point slings have a lot of advantages but can play hell on your knees and groin if you aren't careful.

Single point allows you to keep from putting your rifle down or against a tree. Not so good for movement unless you can keep at least one hand on the gun.

Check out this one. I have it mounted to my 15-Sport.

Another option is the Battlelink Minimalist Stock. It has a non rotational QD mount built into the stock. I have this on my home built AR-15.

As Sarge already pointed out, be wary of a single point sling. It turns a rifle into a nut busting pendulum. I have first hand experience.

I also use the sling mount by tactical links, in conjunction with a Magpul MS4 sling. This combo gives me a choice between single or two point in a simple but fast change. As for the mount it is easy to put on and after quite a few cqb drills has proven worthy. It also will handle all of the previous quick disconnect slings I have.
