Just picked up a 15T and and notice that my sku isn't listed on the s&w website. It's 811001. Do I have an early model? Late model? New to the full size platform any info helps. Thx.

The model you purchased is the one that has been produced for a number of years now but is being replaced by a different model with lower cost components. The model you purchased has a Troy rail and Troy sights. The newer version has Magpul plastic sights and what looks to be a lower cost quad rail. I am sure that the newer model is fine, but I prefer the version you bought. I ordered one myself two weeks ago. Se this thread for more details.

You got the good one! It was listed on their site up until a day or two ago and listed for around 1900 dollars give or take a few.
I am of the opinion that the earlier serial numbers MAY actually be preferable based on the absolute flawless fit, finish and quality of my very low serial numbered (under 3000) OR model. the current trend to lower the price using less expensive components to compete in the mass market may signal other cuts the earlier guns weren't subject to. Maybe not but I see no reason to be unhappy with a new, old stock rifle that was stored properly. Enjoy it!

That's what I figured. I was specifically wanting the older model, which was on the floor, but my local shop will give you an unboxed one from the back until they're out. I checked it over and sure enough it was the same sku. I was just making sure there wasn't a mix up in the wharehouse. After posting I realized that the $1900 model is gone. I gues it's good I got it when I did because I would assume they will no longer offer the original model t being that they completly took it off the website. Super excited about this new venture. Wife was supper pissed
Sold 15-22 on her request to reduce overall cost, she was then ok with it. Then I bought an eotech. Wife is pissed again. lol.

Yeah, women are like that. Tell her the Eotech makes it much safer. Usually that will do it for me, YMMV!
