Sluggish trigger reset

I picked up my second M66-2 3" this afternoon. I didn't have an opportunity to handle the gun before purchasing it. It seems someone tried a do-it-yourself trigger job. The trigger seems sluggish during reset and instead of a two-stage positive reset like my other revolvers, it's a quick, janky feeling one stage reset....for lack of a better description. I'm hoping it's only the previous owners clipping off too many coils on the rebound spring.

I'm dropping it off at my FFL who is also a S&W certified armorer this weekend for him to look at.

Dropping off at a good 'Smith is never a bad idea. Rebound spring seems likely suspect. Get a trigger job if the side plate is already off!

Previous owner may have clipped a few coils off or installed a lightweight rebound spring... or it's a bit gummed up in there and just needs a good cleaning. Either way, it should be an easy fix.
