midway or brownells

no small rifle primers anywhere, whats going on with them

I got on the "notify me when available" on midway and brownells
and I got some. I wanted remington 7 and 1/2 benchrest primers and I specified them and I got some in from midway. I also got some cci small rifle primers from brownells. Good Luck!

I`ve had no problem finding primers. But what really pisses me off is when the LGS`s add and extra $10 to $15 bucks on top of the average price for a brick of 5,000 of them. Powder seems to be hit an miss in my neck of the woods. Same thing going on with the powder too, as far as pricing here. Some of it they`ve been doubling the price of it. Thats just wrong!

I think we`re in it for the long haul. Riots going on, and we have an election coming up. Better get what you can while you can. Even if you gotta pay a little more for it, it sure beats being without anything!

Just history repeating itself . Panic buying when things look bad .
The herd is easy to spook with social media spreading the panic quickly .
After the Obama era shortages I learned my lessons , buy everything you need when it's available and hoard it ...there will be more shortages .
An election is coming and you need to know that elections spawn big time panic buying , shortages and price increases , as do riots and civil unrest .
Gary .

Unprepared reloaders got scared and panicked, buying everything in sight. "Gotta get mine before someone else buys them all"...

I would say a lot of empty 223 brass is receiving a new primer, powder and a projectile to keep the powder inside. its those dang TV's showing the current activities of the population. Primers last a long time, I hope this is the last time you get caught short. A 3-5 years stock is the recommended volume to have on hand at any given time.

I have a good stock of every primer size, including 209 shotshell, but I have begun to wonder if I have enough. I am very unsure about what the future holds for all of us.

I stocked up several years ago but I'm getting down to about 3-4 thousand of each except for large pistol primers. I've got almost 10,000 of those. What was I thinking? I rarely shoot my 45 pistols.

A few months ago I felt "short" on SRP's! I ordered 2k at the best price I could find on line. With shipping and tax almost $100!

So a few days ago I was at Cabela's buying fishing gear and spotted 3K at about $35 per K! So I bought 1K just because!

I'm not hoarding I left 2K!

Smiles,

I’ve got “some” primers. Threads like this make me want to get more.
David

I thought it wouldn't hurt to get a few K more of small pistol and large pistol but there aren't any to be had. I'm ok for a while anyway.

Mid-May I used up the last 1K box of Clinton SRP, but have not started on the 5K case of Obama primers yet. Over the last 6 years of guns shows and other road trips when I find primers for $20 to $25 per thousand I buy them all. It is 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, "Why do you still have primers?" Answer, "Nobody is interested in them." I'm not a hoarder, I am a low price buyer.

Two gun shops were tired of selling reloading supplies. Both times I bought everything on the shelf, leaving with about $300 worth of powder and primers for under $150. I knew a shortage was coming -- eventually.

Last week I bought 1K SRP's and 1# W748 at that big store with the fish tank! I left 3K on the shelf!
