Smaller thumb safety on M&P?

Although I like having the thumb safety on my M&P, I wish it was smaller than the big paddles-looking safeties. I like the size of the thumb safeties the Ruger SR-series have. Do you know of anyone who has swapped out or reduced the size of the M&P safeties?

The M&P shield is another example of the size safety ideal for the regular M&P.

I am also very interested in this question. I would sure like to see some feedback.

Older thread resurrection :) but Cane & Derby used to make a smaller profile safety for the M&P line, although I don't see it on their website currently. Maybe give them a call and see if they still manufacturer it or can provide any dealers that might still have one.

Other than that, removing the safety and doing a little profiling might be the only option (or, ordering a spare and filing on that one - which is what I would suggest :). )

I've tried to make reductions on the right safety paddle (I was removing it, anyway). I only removed a little plastic before hitting metal. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can remove the plastic, then contour the metal paddle(s). They are stainless, so blackening them might be problematic.
