Hi:
My BIL checked out the Sig P-250 and found it is a little larger than He wants for CCW.
Of the American manufactured 9mm pistol which is the "Smallest"?
As a newbie CCW he is planning on IWB or pocket carry.
Thanks,
Jimmy

Kel-Tec PF9 weighs in at 12.7oz empty. It's pretty nice for carrying all day. I'll warn you it's a snappy little thing though.

Ruger's LC-9 is pretty small. SIG has the Pony sized 9mm also. But I'll stick with J-frames and Officer sized 1911 variants. Ivan

Carry Sig P938 for quick mag changes.Small 1911 style 9MM.

The 3913 is not the smallest made, but it is the smallest I will carry for self-defense. I just don’t trust those mini-nines. If I want something smaller than a 3913 I will carry a 49 or 649 in .38 special. To me reliability is more important than having a tiny gun.

Some people like the CS-9 which is smaller, but I don’t care for those either. A 3913 IWB is one of the best carry weapons a man can have. A 649 is about the best pocket gun a man can have.

The Springfield XDS was looking good -- I carried one daily until the recall. I guess we will see what happens when Springfield works out a fix for whatever is wrong with the gun. Until then, it's back to the Walther PPS for me.

Cheers,
Whisper

I like the Shield or the Colt Pocket 9 myself. For the money, the Kahr CW9 is not a bad gun, but not as nice as the two mentioned above.

These are pretty small . . .

For me, and this is just me, there are way too many issues w/the tiny .32, .380 or 9mm pistols. I've tried most and just have come back to the J Frame thirty-eight. I've carried one for over 40 yrs. & it's all I need given my retirement lifestyle.

+1

It does sting a little though & I found that it doesn't fit in a pants pocket well even using a pocket holster. It tends to get caught in the pocket and become very difficult to draw smoothly. (I've carried larger pistols that worked MUCH better in this context.) The trigger pull is an acquired taste too. Now,having said that, I can carry the PF-9 in a Don Hume IWB holster with a spare mag in a single mag carrier & it is literally invisible under an untucked shirt. You'll forget it's there.

In this ,as in all things, there are trade offs. Nothing is perfect................

I recently picked up a Sig P938. It survived the pre-carry gauntlet and I have been carrying it ever since. It's great for pocket or IWB carry. Nice little gun... Easy to handle and relatively inexpensive.

I have a CZ RAMI. Here is a pic with it compared to a Sig P226 and a Glock 19. I was just trying the laser on the Glock to see what it would look like. The CZ is single or double action.

I've had a Kel-tec PF9, Ruger Lc9, and Kahr CW9. The KT was the smallest and lightest and it was perfectly reliable and quite accurate but I would still not consider it or a J-frame revolver a pocket gun. I think the small polymer .380s work well in the pocket but anything bigger needs to go on the belt.

To me when when pocket carrying weight not necessarily size is key.
Everyone seems to have different tolerances. My limit is 16 ounces loaded.
To that end I haven't found a nine that fits my criteria but then I haven't tried the Rohrbaugh.

My favorite pocket is a .380 Seecamp.
Next that would fit pocket and IWB would be a SW MP 340 38/357.
Might try the Kimber Solo, Walther PPS, Shield, or Boberg R9-S.
