Going through my S&W junk box I ran across this old m-41 I used on some of my early 41's. I have read from time to time how elusive this magazine has been to some S&W collectors, and wanted to show them what it looks like.I have several others and just can't put my hands on them so far.I will.

Best Regards

Yep, that's the original Model 41 mag. Two piece body with back plate staked on.

early mags

I have a bag full of these, I keep what extras I get when I buy some of the older guns, that are lucky enough to come with more than 1-2.
Most people do not even realize when they are buying a first or second year gun, when looking at the photos in the ads that the mag coming with the gun is not of the same vintage, also noted in some photos the wrong box, and even wrong box insert. Some cases even a wrong vintage barrel or slide, showing the wrong & or miss matched ampersands.
I feel its very important for anyone who is looking to collect an Early model 41, before they plop down there hard earned money, that they should be well versed in what they should be getting as far as original to that year.
This does apply to any semi auto, revolver etc.

Very good advice Jim!
