Hello all:

I am a revolver man indeed!!! I have been so smitten by the recent purchase of the Model 360PD, 357/38+p/38 special, titanium, scandium, snub nose, that I might venture off into some new revolver territory.

Does anyone about have any experience with the Smith Governor? Let me hear the good the bad and the ugly. Problems? How is it to live with? Etc. Let me hear it all please?

Thoughts??? ;)

Thanks ahead of time. :D

I love mine. I shoot mostly .45 LC and .410 - the moon clips aren't worth my time. It certainly looks intimidating...

Governor

Have owned a Governor for three years now. Super nice revolver
quality build. Like the "moon clips" fast unload/reload.
IMHO great gun for home defense.
Gotta Love It!

I love mine.
Not really sure what it is good for where I live. Was it designed as a snake gun? I use it to shoot mice in the wood pile. It's to big to load up with 45 and CC it. I just think it's cool.

I Also agree about the home defense aspect. Forgot about that part. Especially with a laser. Bad thing about the laser is....it points right back at you. Give and take type thing.

I've had mine for about 3 years now also. Beautiful revolver and carries the classic S&W style and quality. I'm a big fan of the moon clips and the .45 ACP through the gun are surprisingly accurate. Makes for a great bedside gun for an apartment dweller.

A good friend of mine has one, and I got to shoot it on Father's Day, at our club.

It's a great revolver, and it's self-defense all the way. We shot targets mostly at 7 and 10 yards, and it hits dead on the money with Federal .410 loads, and .45 Colt.

I was most surprised by how manageable the recoil was. Of course, the revolver "ain't no Chief's Special". It's a bit heavy.

The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the front sight. I needs to be more contrasting. My friend said he was going to have a Trijicon front installed. That would be a great enhancement.

A lot of gun, and ammo options for the money.

I've had mine for a couple of years now, and love it as much as ever. I shoot mostly 45 acp, and it is very accurate, despite the long jump from cylinder to barrel. Shooting steel out to 50 yards, as long as I do my part, the Gov does his. :)

On a side note, I use plastic moon clips from Moon clips for Governor,Moon Clips for S&W Governor.
They work great at the range, but are pretty flexible. Bullets will pop out pretty easy if dropped or "squeezed", so probably not a good choice for SD reloads.
