I've had several S&W Model 19-5 revolvers over the years. One I had came with Patridge front sight, all the others are red ramp / white outline which I think comes with the target hammer / target trigger. The Patridge version had the skinnier hammer and trigger.

So what do you call this one? It looked like a Patridge at first, until I saw the orange dot. Is this factory or a bubba mod?

Yep. Painted patridge sight. That sight(blued) was standard on 6 in. 19's.

Never seen any like that before. I have seen the Patridge sight equipped Model 19 but the ones I have seen are blued.

Watching the #1 post picture, I can't define if it is a paint or a red insert glued to the vertical side of the Patridge FS. Anyway, it does exist : King sights were very nice aftermarket options, and the red "dot" was one of them. Today they are still available in US, distributed by N****ch for example (is it OK, so masked?). Not mentioned on S&W standard catalog, but somewhere I saw similar FS described as factory option: maybe I'm wrong anyway.
Discontinued..... :(

Here a King's - with its vented rib -

Here's what I believe to be a factory Red Post Patridge sight. The insert is staked at the top.

OK then Bubba did it. Thanks.

You say that like it's a bad thing? I've been "Bubba" all my life, still am for that matter. A fact that my Yankee born wife finds no end of amusement in. She thought "Bubba" was some sort of insult.

And yes. I paint my sights with nail polish. :D
